We offer an extensive range of services, Adult Learners, Adult Improvers, Child Learners, Aquatic Excercises, plus I can offer you the chance to use my pool for quite swimming, on your own or with a friend.

Adult Learners

In Adult Learners, I aim to work on the following skills:
• Building on water confidence
• Holding floating positions 
• Travelling 5 metres kicking with help
• Introducing breaststroke
• Introducing Front and Back Crawl arm action

I am enthusiastic and engaging and will work with you to build confidence in the water and start to build the foundations of the techniques. No matter what your ability, as your teacher I am passionate in helping you to achieve your aims.
I can help you beat the fear of the water; make you more efficient; or allow you to follow a structured training plan to advance your fitness levels.

Adult Improvers

Swimming is an activity that improves all-round fitness and can enhance stamina, strength and suppleness. Unlike other activities this is achieved all at the same time. If performed properly, with good technique, an adult swimmer will benefit from cardiovascular improvement, muscle strength and gracefulness.
Adults should consider the benefits of being able to perform Backstroke, Breaststroke and Front Crawl correctly, where the entire main muscle groups; abdominals biceps, triceps, glutarals, hamstrings and quadriceps are engaged. Imagine being able to exercise your whole body at the same time including; the muscles in your face, neck, shoulders, hips and groin with little fear of injury because of the weight bearing support gained from the water. A whole range of people can benefit from being able to swim properly, even with minimal restrictions caused by arthritis, pregnancy, weight issues and asthma for example. Swimming also does not discriminate on the grounds of age.

Child Improvers

Child Swimmers Only.
Unfortunately, due to the depth of my pool, I am unable to take child non-swimmers, but I can take;
Child Improvers
If I am going to teach your child to swim in this Improver Stage, I would like to see your child swim at least one type of stroke with basic technique, be able to tread water and scull.
Unlike the average swimming lessons providers, I am very technique focused. This means that your child will learn the four recognised strokes in an exciting, structured, progressive manner, and to the highest standard.

Aquatic Exercises

Aquatic Therapy
Without any or minimal equipment, weight-bearing exercises are an option in the water. There are may that can be done, for legs, shoulders, triceps and your arms. 
I am able to offer aquatic therapy which can help people with injuries, limited range of motion, muscle weakness, arthritis, swollen and painful joints. Most people can often gain strength and a greater degree of motion with less pain than other forms of exercise. I tend to follow exercises and guidelines from the University of Ohio, who I have found offer a comprehensive range of exercises.
I have experience with people who have suffered from various forms of brain injury as a result of Parkinson’s, stroke, cerebral palsy, accident or illness. Such water-born exercises can help with balance and mobility problems, as well as give confidence in and out of water. 
Then, subject to the individual’s needs, desires and ability, move on to get them swimming again.
Considerations
While the water provides the safest environment possible for exercising, the Arthritis Foundation notes that some health problems, such as certain types of arthritis, may pose issues. So please discuss your exercise plans with your physician before beginning any new routine exercises.

Use my Pool

USE MY POOL

• Do you find the big pools too crowded? 
• Or are you embarrassed by your lack of technique?
• Why not use my pool, for a small fee, you can relax and swim at your own rate. Whilst knowing that you are always safely monitored for your safety. Or bring a partner and monitor each other. (Waiver required) 
• You will have exclusive use of my pool, complete with its own changing room, shower and toilet. 
• 30-minute and 45-minute sessions available.

My Pool, is situated on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead, in quiet surroundings. The pool itself is 10 metres by 4 metres by 1.5 metres deep, with 2 wide lanes. The water is heated to a constant 28C, which is an ideal temperature for both swimming and learning. To maintain water qualityI use unstabilised bromine, which means that you do not come away with that swimming pool smell. It is also more gentle on the eyes, so is ideal for the younger swimmer.
